My name is Linda. I started volunteering with United Way’s Ray West Memorial Ramp project while I was part of Chrysler’s Job Bank. I became so passionate about it that I continue to participate in my spare time. There are countless individuals in our region who find it impossible to leave their homes without assistance. In addition to hindering a person’s quality of life, this becomes a serious risk in times of disaster, such as a house fire or flood. United Way is committed to providing the basic necessities individuals and families need to thrive. This includes building more than 130 wheelchair ramps to enable individuals to leave their homes and lead more independent lives. Nearly every weekend, I volunteer to build a ramp. This is how I Live United. I encourage you to join me. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.
