I Live United From the day I launched my company, I’ve believed that community involvement is a critical part of a truly successful business. I began working specifically with United Way 2-1-1 because it offers resources that help individuals and families get onto their feet and maintain independence. More and more metro Detroiters are finding themselves in need of help these days and unsure of where to turn. Last year, 2-1-1 handled nearly 164,000 calls and it’s on pace to top 300,000 calls in 2008. The helpline is also involved in outreach through 2-1-1 On the Go, a mobile unit working to combat homelessness on the streets of our local cities. Each day, I talk to business leaders and others in the community about 2-1-1 On the Go because I believe it is one of the best tools available to help people improve their station in life.
