I Live United I began giving to United Way about 50 years ago through my employer because I thought it was an efficient way to help those in need. I still believe that, and I’m glad to see that United Way is also changing. Today it’s focusing more on solving problems in my community long-term, rather just simple fixes. United Way believes there are three building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a steady job, an income that allows people to support themselves and their families, and access to the resources needed to stay healthy. But United Way can’t do it alone. We share a stake in each other’s success, no matter what our position or our means. I’ve been retired over a decade, and I continue to give to United Way because I believe we change community conditions collectively. My name is Bill, and this how I Live United. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.
